10 Amazing Dragon Sculptures

10 amazing Dragon Sculptures to blow your mind with their sheers size, detail and creativity. This may be the closest thing to meeting a dragon in real life.

This is not a ‘Top Ten’ – we love all dragons equally here. But we’d love to know which one is your favorite.

1) Borrego Springs (California) Dragon-Serpent

This 350 foot dragon serpent by Dennis Avery is the largest of 130 sculptures in Galleta Meadows Estates, California, which is open to the public. It’s serpentine body appears to undulate beneath the ground even passing beneath a road to emerge the other side.

10 More Amazing Origami Dragons

You’ve seen 10 Amazing Origami Dragons? Well this is 10 MORE Amazing Origami Dragons!

I am delighted to make another list of beautiful and impressive Origami Dragons and include those designs I couldn’t fit into the first one. Again this is just a list, not a ‘top ten,’ because I just don’t think it would be fair to rank them; they are all beautiful and original in their own right.

1. 3-Headed Red Dragon

‘Pure’ Origami made from a single piece of by 120cmX120cm paper by Dragon Knight 2.0 on Flickr where you can see more pictures of this dragon plus more they have made. It is incredible! Who would have thought it was possible to make a triple-headed dragon from a single piece of paper? And the heads are so detailed and expressive. This really is a masterpiece!

Talk Nerdy to Me

Talk Nerdy to Me‘ is a parody of the song/music video of Jason Derulo’s ‘Talk Dirty to Me.’ It’s getting added to my Geek Mixtape, that’s for sure. It had me at “Hey, listen!” and Starfleet uniforms. It’s funny and clever and speaks to me. Yes – nerds are sexy!

There’s references to Star Trek, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Zelda, The Lord of the Rings, World of Warcraft, Star Wars, Batman, Iron Man and oh so many things to make my little geek heart fill with glee. I had to freeze-frame the video a few times to take in all the cosplays.

Watch it an enjoy! The lyrics are below.

10 Amazing Snow Dragons

10 Amazing Snow Dragons that will blow your mind! I hugely admire people who make snow sculptures, working in freezing weather with freezing materials! I wonder if they get frost bite? Well they say you have to suffer for your art! They also have to cope with rises in temperature melting their beautiful snow creations that are only temporary. It must be sad to see them melt.

As usual this is a list not a ‘Top 10.’ It’s just not fair to compare.

Honesty Fail

epic fail - honesty fail
I saw this whilst visiting the Buckinghamshire County Museum. Obviously asking people to try on jewellery then return it was too much to ask. Epic Fail? I guess that depends on how expensive the jewellery was!

New Baldur’s Gate Sequel? Raise Dead!

There has been a great deal of excitement on the rumor-mill concerning a new Baldur’s Gate Website that has popped up at www.baldursgate.com and whether this heralds the release of a new Baldur’s Gate game. At the moment the website shows a ‘teaser’ with the Baldur’s Gate Skull emblem, character portraits tiling the background and the Baldur’s Gate theme playing in the background making our geeky hearts swell with nostalgia. Aside from this there is only the quote:

“The Lord of Murder shall perish, but in his doom he shall spawn a score of mortal progeny, chaos will be sown by their passage.”

So sayeth the wise Alaundo.

The tiled character portraits fairly standard layout which gaming companies use as teasers for sequels – harking back to the games past. So should we get excited yet?

Tiki Dalek

Someone tweeted about this and I thought it was simply Made of Win. Yes, I’m talking about the TIKI DALEK. In this creation two completely disparate things have been brought together to create poetry in motion. The materials fit the structure so perfectly that one could believe Daleks were MEANT to be made out of cane, coconuts and raffia.
