Talk Nerdy to Me

Talk Nerdy to Me‘ is a parody of the song/music video of Jason Derulo’s ‘Talk Dirty to Me.’ It’s getting added to my Geek Mixtape, that’s for sure. It had me at “Hey, listen!” and Starfleet uniforms. It’s funny and clever and speaks to me. Yes – nerds are sexy!

There’s references to Star Trek, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Zelda, The Lord of the Rings, World of Warcraft, Star Wars, Batman, Iron Man and oh so many things to make my little geek heart fill with glee. I had to freeze-frame the video a few times to take in all the cosplays.

Watch it an enjoy! The lyrics are below.

Look! I’m in a Card Game!

It’s arrived! I pre-ordered the WAGON Webcomic Battle ‘Geek Deck’ and it’s finally here with six cards illustrated by yours truly. They’re great cards with cool powers that trow a little chaos into the game πŸ˜‰

The Geek Deck is themed around the power of the Geek, which is to combine the forces of deceptively weak-looking characters and use unothodox strategy to overcome seemingly unbeatable opponents. Truly in this dawn of a new begining, the Geek shall inherit the Earth.

The Geek Deck includes cards from the webcomics:

I’m really proud to share a project with such an amazing group of creators!

Comic Book Review: The Underfold – Best Apocalypse Ever!

The UnderFold
I found this collection enjoyable to read; I’ve dipped into ‘The Underfold’ online but never gone all the way back to the beginning, so most of this was new to me. One of the things I enjoy about webcomics is that you see artistic progression – the learning process – and as a creator I find this very inspiring because it shows even the greatest Artists come from humble beginnings. It’s unusual for a published book to show this, but in this case it does. In the beginning the art you see are sketches almost anyone could do and by the end it has progressed into a confident and unique style.

The NaNoWriMo Song

Thanks to the internet’s Indie music scene Geeks now have their own soundtrack and it’s called ALLCAPS. The Band consisting of Kristina Horner and Luke Conard have a repertoire of geeky songs including ones about Comics, Robots, Zombies, World of Warcraft and Harry Potter.

But this month November, or National Novel Writers Month. I have a lot of friends who are writers (actually I’m drowning in original manuscripts) and they all have their noses to the grindstone to get that wordcount. How better to cheer them on than with a little song? The NaNoWriMo Song!

‘It’s mixture of relief, perseverance, and caffeine and just little touch of going mad.’
Good luck with NaNoWriMo you crazy, crazy people!!
