Pg 24: Growing Up Fast

This week in Epic Fail: Tinuvielle speaks with the Matriarch at the Temple of Guan Yin. They discuss how Yoru is maturing.

Creator’s Commentary: And we’re back!
I think this page has the most frames and the longest dialogue of any so far! I had difficulty fitting all those speach-bubbles in.
Chi Ho Sung is a character who used to adventure with our heroes. In case you couldn’t work it out she is a cleric of Guan Yin; it was she who advised Tinuvielle to place Yoru in their care. I thought it prudent to mention her. She may turn up sometime.

EDIT: Uploaded new, fully shaded version of this page.

Pg 23: Taking in the Scenery

This week in Epic Fail: The Cleric of Guan Yin leads Tinuvielle to the Matriarch.  Exciting, huh?

Creator’s Commentary:This page is pretty indulgent.  I just wanted to show off the pretty Temple.  This seems like an opportune moment to thank purenightshade of Children of the Tiger for all the reference photos she provided me with.  Cheers!

A great deal of incense in burnt in these temples, hence all the smoke. Note that the Matriarch is relating the tale of the Thousand-Hand Guan Yin, the subject of my Art Interlude.

EDIT: Uploaded new, fully shaded version of this page.

Pg 22: Most Unusual

This week in Epic Fail: Clerics of Guan Yin stream out of the temple to heal the injured in the aftermath of the explosion.  One heals Tinuvielle of her burns who explains she has come to see her son, Yoru.  The cleric reacts to the name with some alarm, worrying Tinuvielle who demands to know what is wrong.  The young Cleric says she will take her to the Matriarch, and we learn that Yoru is not a normal baby.
Creators Commentary: Where the Clerics hand is supposed to be doing a blessing it is actually doing ‘The Shocker.’  This is completely unintentional but may it give joy to all of you with dirty minds!

Pg 21: Waking up the Wrong Way

This week in Epic Fail: Tinuvielle is awakened by a little boy poking her in the face.  She is not amused.  He tells her they have arrived at the temple and she immediately leaps out the carriage to discover her luggage is being unpacked rather hap-hazzardly.  This is dangerous because she has volatile potions in her pack!  She warns the fools but it’s all to no avail.  The potions are thrown of the back of the carriage and land with force, exploding in a large fireball.  Tinuvielle is burned and extremely hacked off!

Creators Commentary: Panel 6 worked out better than I could have hoped.  I redrew it about 8 times before finally just writing BOOM! in the box.  Then I drew Tinuvielle with a near panty-shot in the hopes that it would distract people.

I’m still working without a buffer and have no idea what to draw for the next page by the way…

Pg 20: Elves Drool

Tinuvielle completes her journey to the Temple of Guan Yin.  She has changed transport many times to get there, and is currently sleeping.  There’s an old man in the carriage who tells a young boy to rouse her.  The boy is scared because “she looks dead.”  The old man has a chuckle at his expense and tells him that elves do things differently.

In D&D elves aren’t supposed to sleep, but meditate instead.  I’ve always thought of this as patently ridiculous.  They do sleep, they just want to appear better than everybody else so they call it meditating!  And do it with their eyes open.  And drool occasionally.

Pg 18: The Name Game

Tinuvielle makes a speedy exit, narrowly escaping a kiss goodbye from Amuletts.  Clodin, Martin and Dirk continue to discuss group names.  Amuletts joins in, but only has one suggestion, which is soon quashed.

Hmm, I can’t seem to help myself with these references to geek pop-culture.  Tinuvielle’s 7 is a reference to Blake’s 7, the cult sci-fi show.  Its name belied its content: the cast of characters frequently fluctuated and rarely added up to seven, and Blake himself left the series!

The name Amuletts wanted to suggest is The Wanderers of Wonder.

In other news my buffer has run out!  Oh woe is me!

Pg 17: Too much Justice

Much to Tinuvielles discomfort Amuletts continues to be intensely affectionate and rather flirtatious. She attempts to politely get away but Amuletts pursues her to ‘see her off.’ The rest of the party consider what the group ought to be called. Dirk, being a Paladin, wants a name with ‘Justice’ in, but every name he suggests has already been used.

I’m not sure whether I’ve mentioned this before but Amuletts is a person who enjoys testing boundaries, and this is what she is doing with Tinuvielle here.

The pose taken by Clodin, Dirk and Martin is parodying a famous picture of The Justice League Unlimited. Dirk is in the position of Superman, Martin Spiderman, and Clodin Wonder Woman! I hope that gives you all a chuckle.

Fathers for Justice (or Fathers 4 Justice as Google reliably informs me) is a Fathers’ Rights organisation famous for its high-publicity stunts whilst dressed as super heroes.

Pg 16: GLOMP!

This week in Epic Fail: Tinuvielle decides she’s hung around long enough and takes her leave.  She receives a very affectionate goodbye from Amuletts and is not quite sure how to respond.

BONUS 02: Easter 09

Amuletts and Clodin recieve the gift of chocolate eggs from Tinuvielle.  However there are some strange runes written on them.  As the pair peer at them they explode!

When I drew the Valentines Day bonus page the player of Tinuvielle was shocked!  She said I was allowed to post it as long as she got revenge later.  Well here it is!

Happy Easter everyone!  I’m sorry this page is not shaded.  I did not have a lot of time to complete it due to going on holiday.  I may go back into and shade it later.

Pg 13: Party Politics

This Week in Epic Fail: The party take a vote to decide who will become the leader.  They foolishly leave Amuletts with the deciding vote, who promptly asks who will bid for it.  Dirk is horrified, but Amuletts maintains she is staying true to the spirit of politics.

Creator’s Commentary: Trying to draw Amuletts rubbing her hands together was sheer hell.  You may wonder why Tinuvielle and Dirk voted the way they did.  Well, Dirk is banking on dwarves reputations for being lawful, and Tinuvielle believes she has Martin wrapped around her little finger.
